Need help deciding? Here are some guidelines to help decide what level might fit you best.

Beginner Level

These class options are best suited for those who are brand-new to ceramics or have been away from ceramics for some time. This level is also helpful for more experienced artists who are interested in learning tips, new approaches, and best practices. A refresher class is always good from time to time!

Skill Building Level

These class options are best suited for those who are familiar with the basics of ceramics but want to practice and learn new techniques. For hand building, you should already be familiar with making pinch pots, rolling slabs, and joining pieces with slip. For wheel throwing, you should already be able to wedge 2 lbs of clay, center 1-2 lbs of clay, open, and pull walls independently. Our Skill Building classes will help you explore the considerations of different forms, functions, and techniques that will help take your practice to the next level!

(minimum 6 participants required)

*Makeup Policy
We encourage students to attend all sessions in our 6-week class series to get the most out of their learning experience. If you need to miss a class, we will do our best to accommodate you by offering a makeup option in another class (ideally within the same week to match content), providing additional open studio time to practice, or offering a private lesson with an instructor at 20% off our regular rate.

Please note that the first class is especially important. If you are unable to attend the first session, we recommend rescheduling to a different series or booking a private lesson to get started. Thank you for your understanding.

A Note About Cleaning:

Learning how to clean up is an integral part of the ceramics process. As a community-centered studio, we feel that everyone, regardless of age or experience, must appropriately clean up after themselves when participating in our classes, workshops, events, private lessons, and open studio. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
