Beginner Wheel (6 Weeks)

Need help deciding? Here are some guidelines to help decide what level might fit you best.

Beginner Level

These class options are best suited for those who are brand-new to ceramics or have been away from ceramics for some time. This level is also helpful for more experienced artists who are interested in learning tips, new approaches, and best practices. A refresher class is always good from time to time!

Beginner Skill Building Level

These class options are best suited for those who are familiar with the basics of ceramics but want to practice and learn new techniques. For hand building, you should already be familiar with making pinch pots, rolling slabs, and joining pieces with slip. For wheel throwing, you should already be able to wedge 2 lbs of clay, center 1 lb of clay, open, and pull walls independently. Our Skill Building classes will help you explore the considerations of different forms, functions, and techniques that will help take your practice to the next level!

Intermediate Level

Our intermediate level classes are best suited for those who know their way around a wheel or ware board but want to stretch into more complicated forms, sizes, and methods. For wheel throwing, you should be able to wedge and center at least 2 lbs of clay. Think of this as continual education because no one will ever know all there is to know in ceramics!
